If you’re on the hunt for engagement photos that make you feel like you’re living your best romantic movie moment, Cape Kiwanda is calling your name. It’s the perfect spot for dramatic, raw, and stunning shots that you’ll want to look at over and over. Whether you’re all about those moody vibes or bright colors popping against nature’s backdrop, Cape Kiwanda delivers.
In this post, I’m going to break down why Cape Kiwanda is the place for your engagement photos, share some epic moments from a recent session I shot there, and give you all the tips for recreating this magic. Ready to dive in? Let’s get started.
Let’s talk about why Cape Kiwanda is the location for engagement photos. This place has it all: towering cliffs, sweeping beach views, and crashing waves that make everything feel epic. The beach vibe here isn’t just chill—it’s dramatic in the best way possible. Whether you want moody, atmospheric shots or something bright and bold, Cape Kiwanda has the perfect vibe.
Plus, the weather? Sometimes it’s on your side, sometimes it’s a little unpredictable (thanks, Pacific Northwest), but either way, we’re ready for it. A little rain? No big deal. Just like I did with a couple not too long ago, I came prepared with a clear umbrella, but we didn’t need it. The rain started as we wrapped up the session, and I swear it was like the perfect ending to an already epic shoot.
Speaking of that recent session, let me paint you a picture. We lucked out with the weather—overcast skies and the kind of mist that made everything feel magical. And then, like the universe was just showing off, the rain started as we were leaving. Did we need the umbrella? Nah, but I had it just in case.
The couple chose the perfect outfits: neutral cream tones that complemented the moody background, while her bold, neon green hair totally popped. It was like the beach was the perfect canvas for their dynamic style. Her dress was giving Victorian vibes, and together, they spent the afternoon exploring, running around the beach, and even drawing in the sand. You could feel the love and fun between them in every shot.
So if you’re thinking, “Wow, that looks amazing,” it’s because it was. But I want to help you create that same magic for your engagement session too. Keep reading for tips on how to make it happen!
Booking me for your Cape Kiwanda engagement session isn’t just about getting good photos—it’s about creating an experience. I’ll guide you through the entire process, from location ideas to outfit choices, so we can make sure your photos feel totally “you.”
The whole point is to capture the real you—no stiff poses here. If you’re laughing, running around, or just getting cozy with each other, I’ll be there to document all those raw, real moments that show off your connection. The best photos come when you’re in the moment and feeling confident, and that’s my job: making sure you feel comfortable and like you’re having the time of your life.
And listen, don’t worry about the weather. Sometimes it’s cloudy, sometimes it rains—but the goal is always to make the most of it. Plus, the weather is part of the vibe, and trust me, some rain can actually add to the drama of the shoot.
Okay, so why me? Why am I the one to capture your Cape Kiwanda engagement photos? Well, it’s simple: I specialize in capturing the real you. No awkward poses, no forced smiles—just honest, beautiful moments between two people who are madly in love.
I focus on creating a chill, relaxed atmosphere where you can just be yourselves. I want you to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and I’ll guide you through every moment of the session so that the only thing you’re focused on is having fun. Plus, I’ve got years of experience working with all kinds of couples and styles, so whether you’re the quirky, creative type or laid-back and casual, I’ve got you covered.
1. How far in advance should we book our engagement session?
It’s never too early to book! But I recommend reserving your spot 2-3 months in advance to give us time to plan everything out.
2. What if it rains?
I’ll come prepared, but honestly, a little rain can add an extra layer of drama to your photos. It’s all part of the experience.
3. Can we bring our dog to the shoot?
Absolutely! If your pup’s part of the picture, they’re more than welcome to join the fun.

Let's do this thing
I literally have no words. Natalie is so amazing and talented, and not to mention how kind she is. She has outdone herself! My pregnancy has actually been pretty hard, so it actually brings me to tears to have such beautiful photos to remember it with. I am so so grateful for these beautiful keepsakes.

Natalie and her husband are amazing! My hubby does not enjoy taking photos. Natalie was able to make us feel at ease and have fun with our session. She went above and beyond! I was expecting the typical sit here, pose this way, smile, click. NOPE! She asked us intimate questions about our lives. She played music that we love. She created an atmosphere and a mood that made our anniversary photos an experience. We are so thankful for the memories she helped us to create. Also her unique artistry in how she photographed us. I’m in love with the results. Thank you Natalie and Nate 💖
