Planning a wedding is a wild ride—equal parts excitement and stress, with a sprinkle of why is everything so expensive?! But if you’re an LGBTQ+ couple in Idaho, there’s an added layer of making sure every vendor you hire is not just okay with who you are, but actually celebrates and uplifts your love. And that? That’s non-negotiable.
As an LGBTQ+ wedding photographer in Idaho, I’m here to tell you: your love deserves to be documented with care, respect, and a whole lot of joy (and maybe a well-timed “holy shit, this lighting is perfect” from me). This post is all about why choosing an inclusive wedding photographer matters, what to look for, and why I might just be your perfect match.
Look, wedding photography isn’t just about pretty pictures. It’s about capturing you—your love, your story, and the little in-between moments that make your relationship so damn special. That’s why it’s so important to work with a photographer who gets it.
An LGBTQ+ wedding photographer isn’t just someone who “accepts” you. They:
✅ Use gender-inclusive language (no assumptions about “bride and groom” here!)
✅ Know how to pose couples authentically, without forced heteronormative nonsense
✅ Create a safe, affirming environment so you can be 100% yourselves
✅ Have experience navigating family dynamics and sensitive situations
✅ Understand that queer love deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated
You should never have to wonder if your photographer will make you feel seen. You deserve a hype person with a camera—me, I’m talking about me—who’s going to capture you in all your authentic, beautiful glory.
Finding a wedding photographer who truly supports LGBTQ+ couples is more than just checking if they have a rainbow sticker on their website (though, let’s be honest, it’s a good start). Here’s what to look for:
🔥 Language Matters – Are they using inclusive language on their website, contracts, and social media? Do they refer to “couples” instead of “bride and groom”?
🔥 Portfolio Representation – Do they actually showcase LGBTQ+ couples in their work, or is inclusivity just a buzzword?
🔥 Reviews & Word-of-Mouth – Are queer couples raving about their experience? No one will tell you the truth like a couple who’s been through it.
🔥 A Vibe Check – Do you like them? Will they make you feel comfortable, hyped up, and celebrated on your wedding day? If they feel like your new bestie within five minutes, that’s a good sign.
(Shameless plug: If you want to skip the search, reach out to me here and let’s make some magic together.)
Okay, now let’s talk about the shots you absolutely need in your wedding album. These aren’t just posed portraits—they’re the real moments that tell your story.
📸 The First Look (Or First Hug, or First High-Five, Whatever Feels Right) – A moment just for you two before the chaos of the day begins.
📸 Chosen Family Portraits – Because sometimes the people who show up for you aren’t the ones you share DNA with.
📸 Unapologetically Queer Details – Pride flag cufflinks? “Mrs. & Mrs.” jackets? A non-traditional wedding look? Hell yes.
📸 Dance Floor Chaos – The moment when the nerves are gone, the drinks are flowing, and everyone is having the time of their damn lives.
📸 A Shot That Just Screams ‘Us’ – Whether it’s a forehead kiss, a goofy inside joke moment, or a dramatic Vogue cover-style portrait, this is the one you’ll frame forever.
Let’s be real—not every LGBTQ+ couple has full support from their families, and that can add a layer of stress to wedding planning. If that’s you, I want you to know: you are not alone, and your wedding day is still yours to own.
I’ve photographed weddings where only one supportive parent showed up. I’ve captured couples who ditched tradition and walked down the aisle together because no one else deserved that honor. I’ve worked with couples who surrounded themselves with chosen family and felt more love in that space than they ever thought possible.
If you need someone to navigate this with—someone who’s going to make sure you feel supported, safe, and seen—I got you. Let’s talk through your comfort level, set boundaries where needed, and make sure your wedding day feels exactly how you want it to.
Hey, I’m Natalie, your LGBTQ+ wedding photographer in Idaho, and I do this work because I give a shit.
I know Idaho isn’t always the most openly welcoming place for queer couples. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to create a space where you don’t have to second-guess if your photographer is actually safe and affirming. You don’t just deserve inclusivity—you deserve to be celebrated the way every other couple is.
I’m here to:
💥 Hype you up
💥 Capture your love in a way that feels real
💥 Make sure you feel safe, seen, and valued
If that sounds like the kind of energy you want on your wedding day, let’s talk.
Your wedding day is about you. Your love story. Your joy. Your people. And you deserve a photographer who gets that—who sees you, celebrates you, and captures every messy, magical, heartfelt moment. Remember if they don’t exclusively say that they’re a LGBTQ+ wedding photographer in Idaho then they probably aren’t.
So let’s make it official. Reach out here, and let’s plan something epic.

Let's do this thing
I literally have no words. Natalie is so amazing and talented, and not to mention how kind she is. She has outdone herself! My pregnancy has actually been pretty hard, so it actually brings me to tears to have such beautiful photos to remember it with. I am so so grateful for these beautiful keepsakes.

Natalie and her husband are amazing! My hubby does not enjoy taking photos. Natalie was able to make us feel at ease and have fun with our session. She went above and beyond! I was expecting the typical sit here, pose this way, smile, click. NOPE! She asked us intimate questions about our lives. She played music that we love. She created an atmosphere and a mood that made our anniversary photos an experience. We are so thankful for the memories she helped us to create. Also her unique artistry in how she photographed us. I’m in love with the results. Thank you Natalie and Nate 💖
