You’re thinking about eloping in the Pacific Northwest? Hell yes. As a PNW elopement photographer, let me tell you—you’re in for an adventure. Whether you want to say your vows on a misty mountaintop, in a moody forest, or along the rugged coastline, this region was practically built for nontraditional, wildly romantic elopements.
But let’s be real. You’ve probably got a million questions: Where do we even start? Do we need a permit? What about the weather? And the biggest one—how do we make this day feel like us? That’s where I come in. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about eloping in the PNW, including locations, logistics, and why I’m the photographer for you.
The Pacific Northwest is a dream for elopements, with landscapes that go from towering mountains to foggy beaches. Here are a few top spots:
If you’re dreaming of mountain views and wildflower meadows, Mount Rainier is your place. Whether you want to hike up for a secluded sunrise ceremony or stick closer to an easy-access overlook, this spot is magic.
Permit Required? Yes, you’ll need a special use permit. Check out the latest info here.
This one has everything—rainforests, alpine peaks, and the most cinematic coastline you could ask for.
Permit Required? Yep! You’ll need one for weddings and elopements. Get the details here.
Giant rock formations, crashing waves, and a beach that looks straight out of a movie (because, fun fact, it was in a movie—hello, The Goonies).
Permit Required? Only if you have a big setup. Small ceremonies? No worries.
Glacier-covered peaks, turquoise lakes, and way fewer crowds than some of the bigger parks. If you want those jaw-dropping mountain views without dodging a ton of tourists, this is the spot.
Permit Required? Yes. You can find info here.
(Need help picking the perfect spot? Hit me up, and let’s find the best fit for your vibe.)
Eloping is all fun and games until you realize you still need paperwork. Here’s the deal:
Let’s talk outfits. The PNW can throw anything at you—rain, wind, sudden temperature drops—so your elopement fit needs to be equal parts stylish and practical.
Tell them to dress like they’re going on an adventure. Because they are.
The best part of eloping? You make the rules. Forget the “shoulds” and let’s craft a day that’s actually fun for you.
The point? Your elopement should be more than just a ceremony—it should be a whole damn experience.
Hey, I’m Natalie—a PNW elopement photographer who specializes in capturing couples who want to do their wedding their way.
Here’s why we’d make a great team:
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s chat.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Then we embrace the moody PNW vibes. But also, I always have backup plans.
Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: Hell yes. Dogs make everything better. Just check the leash rules for your location.
Q: Do we need witnesses?
A: In WA & OR, yes! But don’t stress—I can help you figure it out.
Q: Can we bring a few guests?
A: Absolutely. An elopement doesn’t have to be just the two of you.
If you’re feeling that hell yes energy about eloping in the Pacific Northwest, I’d love to help make it happen. Whether you have a clear vision or need help figuring it all out, I’m here for it.

Let's do this thing
I literally have no words. Natalie is so amazing and talented, and not to mention how kind she is. She has outdone herself! My pregnancy has actually been pretty hard, so it actually brings me to tears to have such beautiful photos to remember it with. I am so so grateful for these beautiful keepsakes.

Natalie and her husband are amazing! My hubby does not enjoy taking photos. Natalie was able to make us feel at ease and have fun with our session. She went above and beyond! I was expecting the typical sit here, pose this way, smile, click. NOPE! She asked us intimate questions about our lives. She played music that we love. She created an atmosphere and a mood that made our anniversary photos an experience. We are so thankful for the memories she helped us to create. Also her unique artistry in how she photographed us. I’m in love with the results. Thank you Natalie and Nate 💖
